For administrative convenience
The supervisory institution of divisional commissioner has been
created to oversee the functioning of various governmental offices located in
the division. In this division the office of the Divisional Commissioner is
headquartered at Kota on C.A.D. circle. This office came into being on
1-9-1949. In this division the role of this office
is two fold- I-
Divisional Commissioner - as supervisory head of all
the Govt. offices situated in the division. II-
Commissioner, Area Development-
Responsible for Maintenance, Regulation of the irrigation system and
development of the command area. As Divisional Commissioner, this
office has been given the direct responsibility of supervising the revenue
and development administration in the division. In this capacity the
following administrative functions are performed in the division: (a)
Ensuring timely maintenance of land
records. (b)
Review of public grievance redressal
system. (c)
Supervising the collection of land
revenue and disposal of revenue and criminal cases filed before the
subordinate offices. (d)
Review of public distribution system
and functioning of fair price shops. (e)
Ensuring timely completion of
enquiries conducted under section 38 and 39 of Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act. (f)
Conducting annual inspections of
subordinate offices and providing them guidance for better functioning. (g)
Maintaining Law and order in the
division and coordinating police-magistracy team work. (h)
Supervising jail administration in
the division. (i)
Conducting periodical meetings and
conferences for review and better implementation. (j)
Conducting court work pertaining to
the appellate and revisional jurisdiction. (k)
Ensuring implementation of various
new schemes launched by the Govt. of India, State Govt. for rural and urban
areas. (l)
Coordination and liaison work in
disaster management and relief activities. (m)
Training and motivation of the
personnel working in the Govt.
offices. (n)
Establishing liaison between the
public representatives, N.G.Os with the Govt. functionaries (o)
Introducing new technological and
other innovations in administration. (p)
Encouraging participative working
and culture in Govt. offices. (q)
Coordination and convergence in
activities of various Govt. departments and public initiatives. (r)
As a senior Govt. representative at
the division level functions of protocol etc. are also performed.
