AGRICULTURE

 

Farming is of paramount consequence to the people of hadoti. River Chamble and its trebuteries are the blessing of nature to this region. The soil-water  combination is best suited to the various crop patterns. In Rajasthan the cultivators of this division are in the front line for use of new farming technology, hybrid seeds, fertilizers and irrigation methods.

 

Land utilization statistics in Kota division based on the year 2004-2005 are as follows -

5.  Total irrigated area                                          08.39 lac ha.

7.  Net irrigated area                                             08.01  lac ha

8.  Cropping intensity                                          146. 92 %

9.  Irrigation intensity                                           104.77 %

 

           Soil texture in this region is  black cotton and clay loam . Problem of salinity and alkalinity also exist  at some places . Average  normal rainfall varies from 650 mm. to 1000 mm. On the basis of  the data recorded during previous year  it can be stated that  the rainfall varied from 600 mm. to 825 mm.

 

            Major crops sown during kharif are Soyabean , Maize ,Jowar Moong ,Urd, and during Rabi season are Mustard , Wheat, Corriander, Gram, Pea , Taramira ,Linseed,. Average area  covered  under kharif and Rabi  are 7.48 lac ha. and 7.89 lac. ha. respectively . Crop wise average area of the major  sown during kharif and Rabi  are as under .
